Q: How long have you danced?

  • Since 1991

Q: What are your biggest dance accomplishments?

  • I won 12 gold medals in one competition while dancing with Mavka school of dance.

Q: Where have you danced in the world?

Suzirya Ukrainian Dance Theatre: The Orange Revolution (2005); Multicultural Dance Montage for Her Majesty’s Royal Visit and The Calgary Stampede Evening Grandstand Show (2005); The Kimberley International Folk Festival (2005, 2006); Hopak In The Park (2005, 2007); Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival (2006); San Diego’s House of Ukraine Festival; Kateryna Canadian Tours (Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Victoria, Nanaimo, Montreal, and Ottawa 2007-2010), Toronto’s Ukrainian Festival (2011), as well as our last original production “Spirit of the Seasons” (2013-2014).

Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble: The International Dance and Music Festival in Rexburg, Idaho (2001), The Calgary Stampede Evening Grandstand Show (2002), Hopak in the Park (2003), Winter Fairytale Tours (Calgary, Edmonton, Victoria, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Lethbridge, Winnipeg, 2003-2005), Winter Fairytale Australian Tour (Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney 2004).

During my time at Barvinok and Mavka I participated in many competitions in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Dancing and being a part of the Ukrainian community is so important to me. When I was introduced at the age of 6 by my baba I didn’t think it would be something I would continue into my 30’s, but the passion is strong and my husband and I are so excited to now introduce the culture to our 2 children.
